59-year-old Thomas Patrick Strahan of Coverdale Court in Cornelius has been charged with six counts of felony indecent liberties with a student.

Strahan was initially arrested in May of 2022. At that time, he was charged with one count of felony indecent liberties with a student. Strahan was a softball coach at Lake Norman High School in southern Iredell County. He was not a teacher with the Iredell-Statesville School system.

During an investigation conducted by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit, other victims were identified and interviewed. As a result, Investigators determined that Strahan committed crimes with additional juvenile athletes.

Strahan was arrested in Mecklenburg County on the latest charges this past Wednesday (March 1). He is in jail in Iredell County under a $250,000 secured bond. Strahan will appear in District Court Monday (March 6) and on March 22.
