Fireworks Displays Scheduled This Week For Independence Day

There are multiple Independence Day celebrations scheduled in the Greater Hickory Metro this week. There will be a fireworks show following the Hickory Crawdads/Winston-Salem Dash game on Wednesday (July 3). The game starts at 6:30 p.m. at L.P. Frans Stadium.

In addition, the Morganton Parks and Recreation Department will have their annual fireworks show Thursday evening (July 4). The festivities will start at 9:45 p.m. (depending on weather) at Freedom Park on Independence Boulevard. The park will be closed all day for set-up.

Citizens are asked to park in a safe place nearby to view the show. If you take photos or video of the fireworks display you are asked to post them on Facebook and tag “Morganton Parks and Recreation”.

There will also be a 4th of July celebration in Lenoir Thursday at Mulberry Recreation Center. The event will include free music from Soul Watt, a foam party, games, and a fireworks show. The event starts at 6:00, fireworks begin at 9:30.
