A small abandoned structure was destroyed by fire on Thanksgiving Day in Alexander County. Firefighters from Ellendale, Taylorsville, Sugar Loaf and the North Carolina Forest Service were called at approximately 7:20 p.m. Thursday (November 24) to a location on All Healing Springs Road. The structure was engulfed in flames when the first units arrived. The fire spread into a wooded area but was quickly extinguished.
