A late-night house fire in northern Iredell County prompted a response from multiple fire departments Thursday night (June 11). According to the Iredell Free News, firefighters from the Harmony, Cool Springs and County Line fire departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Bethel Road around 10:50 p.m. after reports of smoke and flames coming from the home.

According to the published report, the first unit arriving on scene reported a working fire with heavy flames showing from a single-story residence. Firefighters deployed two hose lines and launched an aggressive attack, successfully containing the fire to one side of the home. All occupants were able to safely escape and were accounted for. Iredell County EMS and North Iredell Rescue personnel also responded to the scene.

The report says the fire was brought under control shortly before 11:30 p.m. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office.
