Fire Causes Extensive Damage To Hickory Home

A Hickory home sustained major damage in a fire Tuesday evening (November 15). Shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday, Hickory firefighters were dispatched to the area of 3715 9th Street Circle NE. Upon arrival, firefighters reported a working fire with heavy smoke and fire coming from the residence.

Firefighters confirmed there was no one at home and then worked to contain the fire. It was under control by just after 7 p.m. The Hickory Fire Department responded with three engines, one ladder, one rescue truck, and two command units. Catawba County EMS also responded to the incident.

No injuries were reported and damages to the house were considered major. Hickory Fire Investigators responded to the scene and are working to determine the cause of the fire.
