Fire Breaks Out In Downtown Statesville (Updated with more information, 10:57 a.m., 4/25/23)
An early morning fire spread to multiple buildings in downtown Statesville. Crews were called shortly after 2 a.m. today (April 25) to West Broad Street. The fire started at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the building that is home to GG’s Gift Shop. It was believed that the building was unoccupied at the time.

In addition to the Statesville Fire Department, firefighters from Hickory, Stony Point, Troutman, Mooresville, and Harmony responded, among others. Approximately 75 firefighters fought the fire, which was under control by 5:30 a.m. Several buildings sustained significant damage, according to reports. Several blocks were closed as a result of the blaze. No injuries were reported.
