Fewest One-Day Total Of COVID-19 Cases In January Reported In Catawba County: Saturday Coronavirus Update

One COVID-19-related death was reported today (January 30) in Catawba County, increasing the total to 243. 40 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed today, increasing the total to 15,442. 40 is the lowest single-day total of new cases reported in January. There are 112 people hospitalized with the virus.

The Caldwell County Health Department reported two COVID-19-related deaths today, increasing the total to 115. One patient was over the age of 75 and the other was between the ages of 65 and 74. Both patients were reported to have underlying health conditions. Eight new cases were confirmed, increasing the total to 7,971. There are 33 people hospitalized.

Five coronavirus-related deaths were reported Friday (January 29) in Burke County, increasing the total to 120. The Burke County Health Department reported a total of 8,588 cases on Friday, an increase of 73 cases. There were 15 people hospitalized.

31 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed today in Alexander County, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, increasing the total to 3,486. There have been 59 COVID-19-related deaths in Alexander.
