Felony, Misdemeanor Drug Charges Filed In Burke County Case

41-year-old Christopher Charles Brackett of Amherst Road in Morganton was arrested Saturday (January 13) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with two felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance along with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance.

Late last Friday night (January 12) a Public Safety Officer responded to an address on East Fleming Drive in Morganton in reference to an unknown problem. The officer made contact with the suspect, Christopher Brackett. Police reports say that the officer saw a meth pipe on the suspect’s lap.

During a search of Brackett, the officer reportedly found a baggy containing a white crystal substance and three pills. During a search of the suspect’s truck, another meth pipe was reportedly found. It was also discovered that Brackett also had a warrant for his arrest. He faces traffic-related charges in Burke County and has a court date February 23 on those counts.

Brackett was brought to the Burke County Jail and confined under $11,500 secured bond. He was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (January 16). A District Court appearance was scheduled today.
