Felony Drug Charge Filed Following Traffic Stop

33-year-old Kristen Fay Snyder of Ed Bowman Street in Glen Alpine was arrested last Friday (January 5) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance.

Shortly before midnight last Thursday night (January 4), a Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop on South Sterling Street on a red 2013 Nissan Altima with an obstructed plate. After the officer saw the vehicle stop across a crosswalk in the intersection at a red light. There were three individuals in the vehicle when police initiated contact.

Kristen Snyder was a passenger in the vehicle and she was taken into custody on the felony drug charge. Police reportedly seized one gram of methamphetamine during the investigation. Snyder was released on a written promise following the arrest. She made her first court appearance last week, the next District Court date is scheduled for January 26.
