At 3:00 a.m. today (October 19) deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that stated a person was shot at a residence on White Tail Circle in Conover. When deputies arrived they discovered an adult Hispanic male deceased inside that residence. The person appears to have died after suffering at least one gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Samuel Antonio Hernandez Loza. He had been staying at the White Tail Circle residence in the weeks preceding his death.
A Caucasian male and female are suspected of having involvement in the death of Loza. Neither had been identified as of this afternoon. The male is described as being approximately 40-50-years-old, tall with dark hair and facial hair. The woman is described as being approximately 20-30 years old, with blonde hair. The female was seen wearing a grey colored Calvin Kline hooded sweatshirt. The suspects fled the White Tail Circle residence prior to law enforcements arrival.
The motive for this homicide was unknown, the investigation is continuing.
