IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (Iredell Free News) – A family was displaced following a structure fire Tuesday night (September 1) on Old Miller Road in West Iredell County.

According to the Iredell Free News⁠, West Iredell Fire Rescue responded shortly after 10 p.m., with assistance from the Stony Point and Monticello fire departments. The first unit arrived within four minutes and found heavy fire showing from side windows.

Firefighters rescued two unresponsive kittens from the home, and Iredell County EMS was able to revive one of them. The fire was brought under control at 10:45 p.m. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family.
