NEWTON, N.C. (WHKY) – A Burke County man is facing an extortion charge following his arrest Monday (August 10) in Catawba County.

According to jail records, 38-year-old David Lee Hardin of Glen Alpine was arrested in Burke County and charged with felony extortion. The charge was filed by Hickory Police. 

His bond was set at $20,000 secured. A Tuesday (August 11) Catawba County District Court date was scheduled.
