One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Hickory Tuesday evening (November 7). The deceased is 85-year-old Lona Madeline Stafford of Hickory.

The accident occurred at about 6 p.m. Tuesday as a 2019 Audi A5 driven by a 44-year-old Hickory man was traveling north on N.C. Highway 127 when it collided with a 2013 Ford Fusion, driven by a 64-year-old woman from Hickory. The Ford was traveling east on 16th Avenue N.W. when it collided with the Audi in the intersection at Highway 127.

Ms. Stafford was a passenger in the Ford. She was transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte where she was pronounced deceased.
