A teenager was reportedly shot early Tuesday morning (April 25) in Statesville. According to the Statesville Police Department, the 16-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to a leg. The incident reportedly occurred at a location off Inglewood Road. Statesville Police were called to the scene at approximately 2 a.m.

The victim was transported to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. No information regarding a possible suspect had been released as of earlier today (April 26).
