Drugs Seized, Charges Filed Following Morganton Traffic Stop
30-year-old Haley Sierra Stokes of Bollinger Gap Street in Morganton was arrested last Friday (October 20) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She’s also charged with driving during revocation and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
Shortly before 1 a.m. Friday, a Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop of a white 2001 Nissan Sentra. The vehicle was stopped on Enola Road in Morganton after the officer ran it’s plate and learned that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer made contact with the driver, Haley Sierra Stokes.
During the traffic stop, the officer seized .4 grams of methamphetamine, 1.7 grams of fentanyl, just under a gram of suboxone, and two dosage units of subutex. Stokes was taken into custody and brought to the Burke County Jail. She was incarcerated under $10,000 secured bond following the arrest. Stokes was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (October 24). District Court dates are scheduled for November 13 and November 17.
