31-year-old Tyrick Ashley Chandra and 25-year-old Dorrian Shakena Smith, who list separate Greensboro addresses, were arrested Monday (August 10) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers.
Both suspects were charged with single felony counts of possession of cocaine and methampetamine, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and meth, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and carrying a concealed weapon. In addition, they’re each charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

On Monday, Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 77 Northbound in the area of the 65 Mile Marker. When the vehicle stopped, the deputies approached and spoke with occupants of the vehicle, Tyrick Chandra and Dorrian Smith. They said they were traveling from Charlotte to Greensboro.
A K-9 officer gave a positive indication to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle. They reportedly found 16.2 grams of Cocaine, 21.3 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, and ten grams of Marijuana, as well as a digital scale and ziploc bags consistent with packaging drugs for sale. A loaded 9-millimeter handgun was also found concealed inside the dashboard.
Chandra, who is a convicted felon, and Smith were arrested at the scene. Bond for Smith was set at $35,000 secured. Chandra has felony charges against him in other jurisdictions and was given no bond at the time of the arrest. They both remained in jail as of earlier today (August 11). They both have District Court dates August 31.
