Drexel Man Charged In Connection To Theft Of Items From Burke County Business

26-year-old Tyler Warren Adams of Oakland Avenue in Drexel was arrested Tuesday (November 21) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He was charged with two felony counts apiece of breaking & entering and larceny of property, receiving or possessing stolen goods. Adams is also charged with one felony count of receiving stolen goods.

Adams is charged in connection to an incident at a business on Morganton Furniture Road on November 11. On that date, multiple items were stolen from that location. The items stolen were two boxes containing sheets of copper, one titanium plasma cutter, a Dewalt cordless portaban saw, and a Dewalt battery. The total value of the items is listed at $2,650.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Adams has previous convictions listed in Caldwell County in 2018 and 2020. He was convicted for assault on an officer in 2018 and receiving a stolen vehicle in 2020.

Adams was arrested shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at an address on U.S. 70 in Connelly Springs. He was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $30,000 secured bond. A District Court date is scheduled for next Monday (November 27) in Morganton.
