On Thursday (November 9) the City of Hickory Traffic Division will refresh the pavement markings in Parking Lot No. 1 (formerly known as the Duke Energy Lot) adjacent to Lowes Foods City Park in downtown Hickory. The parking lot will be closed all day on Thursday, beginning at 5 a.m. All vehicles must be removed before then. Customers will not be permitted to park in the lot during this time.

Nearby parking is available on a first come, first served basis at the following locations:
•Along Main Avenue NW between Third Street NW and Fifth Street NW
•Along Main Avenue SW between Third Street SW and Ninth Street SW
•In Lot No. 6 across from the Post Office on Government Avenue SW
•In Lot No. 9 on Government Avenue SW and Second Street SW (former Berndt’s lot)
•Along Main Avenue NW between Second Street NW and N.C. 127

In a news release, the Traffic Division says it appreciates everyone’s help and understanding for this minor inconvenience to ensure coworker safety and productivity.
