Donation Of 150K To Be Used To Add Playground Equipment At Hickory Park
The Rotary Club of Hickory has pledged to donate $150,000 to the City of Hickory to make improvements at Miracle of Hickory Park. The City of Hickory will match the Rotary’s donation. The funds will be used to purchase new playground equipment at the park.
In a news release, Rotary President and Hickory Mayor Hank Guess said “With the motto, ‘Service Above Self,’ the Hickory Rotary actively looks for ways to give back and support our neighbors in Hickory. Through our local Rotary Foundation, we are proud to make this donation to the City of Hickory and partner on this project.”
Once installed, the new playground will offer a variety of physical, social, and sensory experiences. With different zones of play offering multiple levels of challenge, the thoughtfully designed play space will feature inclusive elements such as adaptive swings, a wheelchair accessible glider, cozy spaces, and specially engineered slides.

Miracle of Hickory Park is located at 1515 12th Street Drive NW in Hickory. The City of Hickory will provide updates on the installation of the new playground equipment at the park.
