Dominate Pitching, Pair of Home Runs Propel Crawdads to Win

The Hickory Crawdads rebounded from Friday’s loss to defeated the Bowling Green Hot Rods Saturday night, 3-1 on the road.

Both teams got a run in the first inning. With one away in the top of the first, Luisangel Acuna hit his seventh home run of the season to left field. Bowling Green scored after a walk and a single.

From there, the only runs scored where by the Crawdads in the fourth inning. Cristian Inoa singled to lead off the inning and Chris Seise homered to right field.

The story of the game for the Crawdads was the pitching. Owen White got the start and went seven innings, allowing only two hits, the one run, and walked two while striking out 11. He improves to 6-2 on the season with the win. Marc Church picked up his fourth save of the season, pitching the final two innings in perfect fashion while striking out four of the six batters he faced.

The win improves Hickory to 33-23 on the season.
