78-year-old Grover Cleveland Meetze III of Davidson has been arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers on one felony count of neglect of a disabled or elderly person with injury and misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment and domestic violence.
Yesterday (January 10), Officers responded to a domestic assault at an address on the Mecklenburg Highway in Mooresville. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with Home Health Workers who said they discovered the 80-year-old victim with injuries, possibly sustained while being forcibly restrained. Officers determined that Grover Cleveland Meetze III had tied the victim to a bed with duct tape on several different occasions.
Meetze, who is married to the victim, was arrested at the scene and placed the Iredell County Detention Center without bond. He’ll appear in District Court on January 31.
The Iredell County Department of Social Services was also contacted and briefed on the details of the investigation.
