Crawdads Drop Road Contest to Aberdeen

The Hickory Crawdads fell to Aberdeen 8-2 Wednesday on the road.

Hickory started off with a run in the top of the first. Cameron Cauley singled and moved to third when Yeison Morrobel singled. Sebastian Walcott singled to bring Cauley home.

A similar scnearion played out for the Crawdads as they scored again in the top of the third. Cauley doubled to start the inning. Morrobel singled again, allowing Cauley to score once again.

Aberdeen scored a run in the fourth inning. In what would prove to be a critical aspect of the game, the Crawdads had the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning, however, they were unable to push across any runs. Instead, the Ironbirds scored six runs in the home half of the inning to seal the game.

The ‘Dads fall to 26-33 on the first half of the season. Hickory takes on Aberdeen the remainder of the week.
