Crawdads Blank Drive to Wrap Up Short Homestand
The Hickory Crawdads won 2-0 Sunday afternoon to take two of three against the Greenville Drive in the weekend series.
In the bottom of the first, Frainyer Chavez drew a six-pitch walk to get on base for Tucker Mitchell. Mitchell took the first three pitches he saw for balls before launching a to right to give the ‘Dads a 2-0 lead and the only runs they would need the rest of the way.
Emiliano Teodo got the start for the ‘Dads, tossing 4.1 one-hit innings while striking out eight and walking two. Yohanse Morel came in to finish off the fifth inning. Nick Lockhart, Gavin Collyer, Jackson Kelley, and Reid Birlingmair each handled an inning and closed out the victory.
The Crawdads will hit the road for six games in Rome and will return on July 25th for a series against the Hudson Valley Renegades.
