COVID-19 Related Death Reported In Catawba County Along With 67 New Cases, 34 Infections In Burke, 29 In Alexander

A COVID-19-related death was reported today (October 22) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the total to 62 during the pandemic. 67 new cases of the coronavirus were reported today in Catawba County, lifting the overall count to 4,121. Hospitalizations increased to 33, from 31 Wednesday (October 21).

34 new COVID-19 infections have been reported today by health officials in Burke County, increasing the total to 2,893, with 52 deaths. Hospitalizations dropped to six in Burke County, down from nine on Wednesday.

The Alexander County Health Department reports 29 new cases of COVID-19 today, increasing the total to 729, with nine deaths. 152 people are in quarantine with the coronavirus, thirteen people are in the hospital, and 555 people have recovered. Due to COVID-19 exposure, the Alexander County Library’s main branch and Stony Point branch and the county license plate agency are temporarily closed.
