COVID-19 Hospitalizations Decrease In Two Hickory Metro Counties: Friday Morning Update

COVID-19 hospitalizations decreased again in Catawba County Thursday (February 4), falling to 93 from 95 in the previous update. There was one coronavirus-related death reported Thursday in Catawba County, raising the total to 254. 93 new cases of the virus were confirmed by Catawba County Public Health, lifting the overall total to 15,856.

COVID-19 Hospitalizations decreased in Caldwell County as well on Thursday, falling to 27, from 30 the previous day. There were four coronavirus-related deaths reported in Caldwell, increasing the total to 119. 25 new cases were reported Thursday, raising the total to 8,070.

Burke County Public Health reported the county’s 121st coronavirus-associated death Thursday. The individual was in their 80s and was hospitalized. In addition, 50 new cases of the virus were reported in Burke County, increasing the total to 8,835. There were ten people hospitalized.

14 new cases of COVID-19 were added in Alexander County Thursday, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The overall total is 3,603, with 59 deaths.
