COVID-19 Death Reported In Catawba County, New Cases Confirmed In Catawba & Burke Today

The 48th COVID-19-related death was reported by Catawba County Public Health today (September 2). In addition, 12 new cases of the coronavirus were reported, making the county’s total 2,668. There were 12 people hospitalized with COVID-19, the same total as Tuesday (September 1).

As of today, at least 2,438 patients had recovered in Catawba County. Approximately 11.5% of those tested in the county have been positive for the virus, and the death rate among those who do contract COVID-19 is 1.8%.

16 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed today in Burke County, raising the count to 2,068 overall. There were eight people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Burke County and at least 1,771 patients had recovered. 10% of those who have been tested have been positive for the virus, and the death rate in Burke County is 1.7%.
