COVID-19 Case Counts Continue To Trend Lower In Hickory Metro, State Infection Rate Drops Below 5%: Friday Morning Update

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Thursday (February 25) in Catawba County, leaving the total at 279. There were 32 new cases reported, increasing the total to 17,015. 42 people were hospitalized.

There were two coronavirus-associated deaths reported in Caldwell County Thursday, increasing the total to 132. Both patients were over the age of 75 and had underlying health conditions. There were 32 new cases of the virus reported in Caldwell County, lifting the total to 8,631. There were 19 people hospitalized.

16 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday in Burke County, raising the total to 9,417, with 140 deaths. There were ten people hospitalized. Seven new cases of the coronavirus were reported Thursday in Alexander County, lifting the total to 3,883, with 81 deaths. There were ten people hospitalized. The statewide infection rate fell to 4.5% on Thursday.
