Contracts Awarded for Granite Falls Splash Pad

At their regular meeting Monday (July 17), the Granite Falls Town Council awarded three contracts for the splash pad project at the Recreation Center. The first is to Lail Builders of Hickory for site preparation. The second contract went to Vortex Aquatic Structures International of Dover, Delaware for splash pad equipment and features, and the third contract went to Aqua Underground of Marietta, Georgia for installation of the splash features and equipment.

Construction should start during the next month and the splash pad should be completed by May of next year. It will be home to ten erected features and 23 ground features. The project will be funded by a Parks & Recreation Trust Fund Grant awarded to the town in 2020.

Town Council also awarded contracts for new A.D.A.-compliant restrooms and a new addition to the A.D.A.-accessible walking path. The contracts for the A.D.A. outdoor restroom project and the walking path went to Lail Builders. Those projects should be complete before the start of the spring sports season.
