Conover Woman Arrested as Fugitive from S.C.

49-year-old Lorie Lea Ball of 3rd Avenue S.W. in Conover was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers yesterday (April 26) on a felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state. She was also served with an order for arrest on a misdemeanor count of driving while license revoked. Ball is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office in Columbia County, South Carolina for a probation violation in connection to a felony count of theft by shoplifting.

Following her arrest, Ball was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond on the fugitive warrant set at $25,000, secured, plus a $1,000 bond on the other charge. She was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court today in Newton with a court date on the driving while license revoked charge coming up on May 15.
