Conover Police Arrest Man on Fugitive Warrant from Virginia
43-year-old Demarco Darnell Sprinkle of Red Bank Road in Germantown (in Forsyth and Stokes counties) was arrested by Conover Police Saturday (July 15) on a felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state. Sprinkle is wanted by the Police Department in Danville, Virginia for stealing motor vehicle parts and breaking & entering with the intent to commit larceny. He was also charged locally with a felony probation violation and misdemeanor larceny.
On July 9, Sprinkle’s 2007 Chevy Impala was serviced at a business on North Main Street in Danville. When he came to get his vehicle, Sprinkle was unable to transfer the required payment into his Cash App account. After approximately two hours, the business owner closed the shop for the day. Later, the owner was told that the rear bay door to the business was open. A review of security footage showed the suspect walking toward the bay doors and — a short time later — backing the Chevy out of the building and leaving. Damage to the building was minor.
Sprinkle is on probation following a September 2019 conviction in Guilford County on three felony counts of second-degree kidnapping and one felony count of embezzlement. He had been listed as an absconder from probation.
Following his arrest Saturday, Sprinkle was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $101,500, secured. He remained in jail as of this afternoon (July 17). He was scheduled to appear in District Court today on the fugitive warrant and again on August 21 on the misdemeanor larceny charge. A Superior Court date was set for September 11 on the probation violation.
