Conover Man Jailed on Domestic Violence Fugitive Warrant from Florida

32-year-old Timothy Edmond Tysdal of Monford Drive in Conover was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers Friday (March 8) on a felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state. He is wanted by the Titusville Police Department in Brevard County, Florida on charges of battery including domestic violence and tampering with a witness, victim, or informant.

Tysdal is wanted in connection with an incident in November of last year. According to documents filed by the Titusville Police Department, Tysdal and his girlfriend were involved in an argument after she filed for child support. Tysdal reportedly threw the victim toward a bedroom window, shattering the window and inflicting a minor injury to the victim’s lower back. He then took the victim’s cell phone and disconnected all video and internet services at the residence, preventing the victim from contacting law enforcement. Tysdal then left the residence. The victim went to her father’s residence and called law enforcement.

Following his arrest Friday, Tysdal was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $40,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of this morning (March 11). A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Newton.
