31-year-old Joseph Ashley Bryant of 13th Avenue SE in Conover was arrested Wednesday (March 8) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II controlled substance, and possession of controlled substance on prison or jail premises. He’s also charged with misdemeanor counts of simple possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and assault on a female.

Following the arrest, Bryant was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $10,000 bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (March 9).
