Conover Man Charged With Being No-Show In Court To Answer To Felony, Misdemeanor Charges

35-year-old Richard Matthew Shew of Eastway Lane SW in Conover was arrested Tuesday (March 19) by Conover Police Officers. He’s charged with failure to appear on counts of possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor probation violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shew is on probation as a result of a conviction in Catawba County in October, 2022 for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He received probation and an 18 month suspended sentence. Following Tuesday’s arrest, Shew was confined in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $100,000 bond. A Superior Court date is set for May 23.
