Conover Man Arrested on Outstanding Felony Warrants

44-year-old Jason McKinley Powell of Hall Street in Conover was arrested by Hickory Police last Tuesday night (November 23) on a pair of outstanding felony warrants. He was wanted on felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses and larceny of a motor vehicle. The warrants were issued on November 15.

Powell was taken into custody without incident at about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 2nd Avenue N.W. and 17th Street N.W. in Hickory. He was processed at the Hickory Police Department and later released under a $16,000 unsecured bond. An appearance in Superior Court was scheduled last Wednesday (November 24) in Newton with another Superior Court date scheduled today (November 29).
