Connelly Springs Woman Arrested On Felony Charges In Multiple Counties
38-year-old Priscilla Dawn Moody of Rhodhiss Road in Connelly Springs was arrested Thursday (March 9) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance in Burke County and is also charged as an habitual felon in Catawba County.
Moody has multiple convictions on her record dating back to 2011. She’s been convicted of various crimes in Burke, Alleghany, McDowell, and Caldwell Counties. Those crimes include felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, larceny of firearms, larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of schedule II controlled substance. The most recent convictions were in May and September of 2021 in McDowell and Caldwell Counties.
According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Moody received four months of jail time following the May, 2021 conviction in McDowell County. She received probation and a 36 month suspended sentence as a result of the September, 2021 conviction in Caldwell County.
She was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday and was placed in jail in Morganton under $55,001 secured bond. She remained in jail as of earlier today (March 10). A Superior Court date is scheduled for April 3 in Catawba County, Moody has a Superior Court appearance scheduled for April 10 in Burke County.
