Connelly Springs Man Charged With Rape, Forcible Sex Offense

47-year-old Wesley Andrew Neece of Cobbs Place in Connelly Springs was arrested Thursday (January 11) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with one felony count of first-degree forcible sex offense, two felony counts of second-degree forcible rape, and one misdemeanor count of sexual battery.

Neece was arrested at his residence without incident shortly after midnight Thursday morning. The warrants are dated November 17, 2023. According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Wesley Andrew Neece has one prior conviction in the state. He was convicted of felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance in July, 2012 in Burke County.

Following Thursday’s arrest, Neece was brought to the Burke County Jail where he was incarcerated without bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (January 12) and was still being held under no bond. A Superior Court appearance is scheduled for February 26 in Morganton.
