42-year-old Robert William Owens III of Red Fox Trail in Connelly Springs has been arrested by Newton Police on two counts of failure to appear. Owens reportedly failed to appear in court on counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with resisting a public officer. Owens was jailed this morning (April 10) in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $16,500. An appearance in Superior Court on the failure to appear charges was scheduled for May 22 with a District Court date on the resisting charges scheduled today in Newton.
