Connelly Springs Man Again Faces Felony Drug Charges
49-year-old Jon Bradley Williams of Knobs Landing in Connelly Springs was arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers Tuesday (October 24) on two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance, one each for methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Events leading to Williams’ arrest began as Officers conducted undercover operations in the Connelly Springs community following numerous citizens’ complaints. At about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Investigators initiated a traffic stop after they saw Jon Bradley Williams driving a vehicle with a revoked license. During the course of the stop, probable cause was developed and a search of the vehicle was conducted. A container with a clear crystalline substance was recovered. The substance was tested on the scene for meth. A search of Williams’ person turned up a small, clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance that tested for fentanyl.
Williams was taken into custody and given a $20,000 secured bond. Since January of this year, Williams has been arrested at least four times prior to Tuesday’s arrest on the following charges: three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance (two counts), possession of stolen goods, possession of meth, and a felony probation violation. Total bond on all charges was set at $270,000. He was scheduled to appear in District Court on the most recent charges yesterday (October 25) in Morganton. Williams will also appear in Superior Court on November 6 and in District Court on November 13.
