35-year-old Robert Clifton Brown, Jr. of Concord was arrested Monday (April 17) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony attempt to obtain controlled substance by forgery or fraud.

Brown was arrested shortly before 4 p.m. Monday at an address on Avery Avenue in Morganton. Police responded to that address after they were contacted in reference to a case of fraud.

Brown was brought to the Burke County Jail where he was incarcerated under $10,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (April 21). A District Court appearance is scheduled for May 11 in Morganton.
