53-year-old Cathy Diane Elders of Bethany Church Road in Claremont was arrested Friday (March 3) on charges filed by the Claremont Police Department and Probation & Parole. She’s charged by Claremont Police with felony larceny by employee. Probation & Parole charged Elders with four counts of felony probation violation.

Elders is on probation as a result of a conviction in December, 2021 in Catawba County for two counts of felony financial card fraud. She received probation and an 18 month suspended sentence. Following Friday’s arrest, Elders was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $16,000 bond. She remained in jail as of earlier today (March 7). A Superior Court date was scheduled Monday (March 6), a District Court appearance is set for March 27.
