55-year-old Karen Lynette Childers of Oxford Way in Claremont was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of schedule II controlled substance. In addition, Childers is charged with two misdemeanor counts apiece of simple possession of schedule II controlled substance and possesson of drug paraphernalia, along with single misdemeanor counts of simple possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and drinking beer or wine while driving.

Childers was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility this morning (January 11) under $4,000 bond. District Court appearances were scheduled today and Thursday (January 14).
