34-year-old David Earl Welch of Rocky Road in Claremont was arrested by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance, and use of red or blue light. Welch was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility this morning (August 21) under $1,500 bond. A District Court date was scheduled today.
