Claremont Man Charged With Weapon Offense, Assault On Officer

31-year-old Luis Enrique Rivera of Village East Drive in Claremont was arrested Thursday (July 15) by Conover Police Officers. He’s charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, assault on a law enforcement official, resisting a public officer, possession of marijuana one-half to one-and-one-half ounces, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and injury to personal property. Rivera was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $12,500 bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled for August 3.
