40-year-old Joseph Allen Smith of Whisenant Lane in Claremont was arrested Friday (January 20) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $5,000 bond. A District Court date was scheduled today (January 23).
