City Of Hickory Announces Thankgiving Holiday Schedule

The City of Hickory will close its offices next Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, November 27, at 8:30 a.m.

The Solid Waste Division and its services (garbage, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collection) will continue without interruption. The Patrick Beaver Memorial and Ridgeview Branch libraries will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, and remain closed Thursday and Friday. Both Hickory Public Library branches will be open for regular hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 25.

As far as Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism, the Administrative Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Highland Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. next Wednesday and remain closed Thursday. Highland will be open Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ridgeview Recreation Center and Brown Penn Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and remain closed Thursday. Ridgeview Recreation Center will be open Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Brown Penn Recreation Center will be closed on Friday.

Westmont Senior Center will be closed Thursday. Regular hours for recreation facilities will resume on Saturday. Starting Sunday, November 26, Highland Recreation Center will be open on Sundays from 1-6 p.m. for the winter season. Parks are open 365 days a year.
