At approximately 3:00 a.m. today (July 3), Morganton Public Safety personnel responded to a truck that lost a load of chicken product on the roadway near the Burkemont Avenue bridge over Interstate 40.

As of 3:20 a.m. crews were actively working to clean up the roadway. Motorists were advised to use caution when traveling through the area. The spill has since been cleaned up.
