Cherryville Man Arrested on Trafficking Charges from Two Counties
35-year-old Brandon James Clark of East Academy Street in Cherryville has been arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Officers on one count each of possession with intent to manufacture a schedule I controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon, the sale & delivery of a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture a schedule II controlled substance, trafficking in opium or heroin, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance.
Lincoln County Narcotics Investigators took Clark into custody yesterday (April 11) following a six-month-long investigation. The arrest was the result of citizens’ complaints concerning illegal drug activity in the western Lincoln County area.
He was arrested after Investigators conducting surveillance on a residence saw the suspect leave in a vehicle. Patrol Deputies stopped the vehicle as it approached the area of N.C. Highway 27 West and N.C. Highway 182. Officers arrested Clark and seized 12.5 grams of fentanyl, 1.5 grams of meth, 1.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and two loaded firearms. Cherryville Police assisted in the operation and also filed trafficking charges.
Clark was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $235,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in District Court tomorrow in Lincoln and Gaston counties.
