LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. (WHKY) – A Charlotte man was arrested after deputies say he attempted to break into a vehicle in Lincoln County. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded September 23 to the area of Highway 16 and Optimist Club Road after a report of an attempted breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

According to investigators, a man attempted to break the window of a vehicle that had stopped at the intersection while the driver was inside. The driver was able to drive away and continued to keep the suspect in sight while providing information to deputies.

Deputies later located 28-year-old Andres Rodriguez of Charlotte. After a brief foot chase, Rodriguez was taken into custody. He was charged with attempted breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer.

He was given a $20,000 secured bond and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective T. Glover with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050.
