CCC&TI’s Soloman Named Basketball All-American

The NJCAA Division One Men’s Basketball Committee released their All-American selections recently. CCC&TI’s Toyaz Soloman was an honorable mention selection, marking the first time in program history at the division one level that a Caldwell player has achieved All-American recognition.

The sophomore from Enfield, NC averaged 14.9 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game. He also recorded 43 blocked shots and 15 steals on the season. Solomon scored a season high 27 points in the first game of the season against Motlow State. He scored 20-plus points in seven games and recorded eight double-double on the season, despite missing seven games in December with an injury.

In March, Soloman was named Region 10 Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and first-team All-Region. He helped lead the Cobras to a 22-5 record, including a 10-2 mark and regular season first place finish in Region 10 Division One. Soloman has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend UNC-Asheville.
