30-year-old Melissa Sue Whited of Hudson Chapel Road in Catawba was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also charged by the Department of Probation & Parole with a felony probation violation. Whited is on probation as she serves a 24-month suspended sentence following an April 2021 conviction in Catawba County for possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Whited was jailed today (September 11) in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $5,000. An appearance in Superior Court was scheduled for September 18 in Newton.
